Anotace: Já, Claudius je historický román britského spisovatele Roberta Gravese, který vypráví historii římské císařské rodiny z první císařské dynastie Juliánsko-Claudiovské z pohledu pozdějšího císaře Claudia. Vyprávění je psáno v první osobě a na pozadí skutečných historických událostí je rozehráván fiktivní příběh, popisující život a intriky tehdejších vládců Středomoří. Kniha byla o rok později následována pokračováním nazvaným Claudius Bůh a jeho žena Messalina, které popisuje dobu panovaní Claudia až do jeho smrti (v závěru je doplněna fiktivní satirou Claudiova současníka na císařovu smrt). Anotace: Satirickou povídku Nový epochální výlet pana Broučka, tentokráte do XV. století vydal Svatopluk Čech poprvé v roce 1888. Jedná se o druhou autorovu povídku, jejímž hlavním hrdinou je typický měšťák, majitel činžovního domu, Matěj Brouček. Ta první se jmenovala „Pravý výlet pana Broučka do Měsíce“ a je v této knize zmiňována. Hanuman

Anotace: Staré pověsti české je kniha Aloise Jiráska, která popisuje události z české historie založené na lidové slovesnosti a některých historických faktech. Anotace: Lucerna je divadelní hra Aloise Jiráska z roku 1905. Premiéru měla v pražském Národním divadle dne 17. listopadu 1905. Režii premiérového představení měl Jaroslav Kvapil. Jedná se o autorovu nejznámější hru, zároveň s tím se jedná o vůbec nejhranější původní českou divadelní hru všech dob, která byla i několikrát zfilmována. Nejznámější televizní verze pochází z roku 1967 a režii tohoto ztvárnění provedl František Filip. Hra časově spadá do historického období, kdy se sedláci dožadovali zrušení nevolnictví a povinné roboty. Anotace: This work puts a particular emphasis on the mixing and osmosis of the first Mediterranean civilizations, with particular reference to the Minoan, Cycladic, Mycenaean, and Trojan, and on the causes of their decline, which are to be identified in a jumble of natural and human causes, and in a long-lasting, slow, but irreversible crisis. It takes into account that the Mediterranean Dimension of the Bronze Age is a garden in which many legends flourished, clearly distinguishing between myth and history, and always bearing in mind that legends are not to be taken literally (nonetheless, they often have a grain of truth). 1453: Pád Konstantinopole - zrod Istanbulu
Anotace: Kniha vypráví příběh dobytí hlavního města byzantské říše v roce 1453. Ovládnutí Konstantinopole osmanskými vojsky vešlo do dějin především jako událost, která zakonzervovala nesmiřitelnost dosavadního konfliktu mezi křesťanstvím a islámem na několik následujících století.
