Anotace: Čtvrtým svazkem, Spisovatelé a leviatan, se uzavírá souborné vydání esejí George Orwella, které obsahuje celkem 241 esejí, analýz, recenzí a novinových sloupků z pera slavného spisovatele a novináře. V tomto závěrečném dílu, pokrývajícím roky 1947 -1949 si můžeme přečíst další sloupky „Jak to vidím já“, které známe už z předchozího svazku, Orwellovy recenze (např. na román Jádro věci Grahama Greena nebo esej „Lidská duše za socialismu od Oscara Wildea“), ale samozřejmě i úvahy politické. Například esej „K evropské jednotě“ z r.1947, v němž ještě Orwell stihl zařadit Československo mezi země s „tradicí demokratického socialismu“ bude pro čtenáře nepochybně zajímavý i dnes. Anotace: China's War of Resistance against Japan, as WWII is known in China, was never about the defeat of Japan alone. China was also at war with itself. Crusading Against Christians in the Middle Ages
