Židé a Arabové v Palestině za Druhé světové války 1935-1942
Anotace: Výkladu a popisu událostí druhé světové války bylo věnováno bezpočet knih. Přesto stále vznikají nové: pohled na více než osmdesát let staré události se neustále vyvíjí a názory se různí. Mezi politiky a ve společnosti obecně stále najdeme dost takových, kteří se při obhajobě svých postojů nadále odvolávají na druhou světovou válku. Dodnes platí, že konflikt v podobném rozsahu naše civilizace nikdy předtím nezažila, tato válka navíc umožnila i jednu z nejtragičtějších kapitol dějin lidstva, holokaust. Uvidíme bojiště i události doslova z celého světa: sionistické aktivisty, arabské povstání v Palestině, soupeření Ruska a Japonska na Dálném východě, spojenectví Hitlera se Stalinem, které se rozpadlo po německém útoku na Sovětský svaz, problémy britského impéria v Asii, Africe i Irsku, nacionalistické hnutí v Indii, nepokoje v Iráku a Íránu, zájmy Spojených států v Pacifiku i v Evropě, osudy polské Andersovy armády, tragédie evropských Židů v továrnách na smrt a mnoho dalšího – Diner přesvědčivě ukazuje, že události druhé světové války lze pochopit jen jako celek.
